My name is Anthony, and I want to share my sincere gratitude and personal testimony about the impact that THCC and the El Dorado House have had on my life. When I arrived at the El Dorado House, I had nothing — no job, no family, and no place to go. I was broken and desperate for change. All I wanted was a safe and stable place to stay clean and rebuild my life. I came to the house with a few bags and a fragile sense of hope. One of my biggest goals was to get back into my children’s lives. I knew that in order to be the father they deserved, I needed to get clean, stay consistent, and rebuild a foundation I had lost. The El Dorado House helped me do exactly that. From the very beginning, I was welcomed without judgment. I was given a chance — something I hadn’t had in a long time. I started attending A.A. and N.A. meetings and connected with others in recovery who supported and encouraged me. I was finally in an environment where people genuinely cared. The El Dorado House was more than just a place to live — it was a home. The house was clean, well-maintained, and filled with people who held each other accountable and lifted each other up. The house manager was honest, supportive, and helped me build a plan to succeed. For the first time in a long time, I felt like I had a real chance at a future. Because of the structure, support, and sense of community I found there, I was able to stay clean. I got my job back, started saving money, reconnected with my children, and eventually moved into my own apartment. These are things I never thought possible when I walked through those doors.
I truly believe I would not be where I am today without the help of THCC and the El Dorado House. You gave me a safe place to heal, grow, and rediscover my purpose — both as a man and as a father. For that, I am forever grateful. Thank you for believing in me when I couldn’t believe in myself.
With deepest appreciation,
Anthony

At first, I was skeptical about sober living. What would it be like? Who would be there? Would it even help?
On my first visit to El Dorado House, I met the house manager, who laid it out: to stay, I’d need to attend meetings, look for work, and get along with the others. I quickly found a community that truly supported me. Within those walls, people wanted to see me succeed.
Through their love, encouragement, and genuine friendship, I was able to get clean—and stay clean. I owe my life to El Dorado House and the people there.

This place saved my life. They took me off the streets and into a home. I had no hope till I got to this place.

They got me back on my feet and a place to stay after traveling hundreds of miles breaking down on the freeway with nowhere to stay.
